Stupid Feelings! (The Black Hoodie - Pt 5)

Disclaimer : I'm a huge KPop fan and you will come across names and photographs of KPop idols in most of my stories (The photographs and pics are downloaded from the internet and I do not have ANY intellectual property right over them). (Jake's pov)

I know Jenny takes the bus to work. So, I followed her to the bus stop because I didn’t know which bus to take! Today her dress was matching her bag and file, which had Barbie written on it. That color looks pretty on her! Matches with the color of her lips and her cheeks too! I was so lost in my thoughts that I almost missed the bus!

Jenny and I sat together, chatting away, till the imposing and impressive building of Monochrome came into view. We got off the bus and I could see Jenny was in awe of the aesthetics of the construction.

I'm a minimalist and I hate walls! Too much of clutter or furniture or colours aren't my style at all! I designed the building of Monochrome myself with some inputs from dad's architect. This building is ME. All the employees are dressed up in black pants and white shirts with name tags. The only person who lights up my monochromatic world with colour is my neighbor Jenny! Just like someone did, aeons ago.....

Mrs Jones treated us to her famous lemon tea in my office and then we finally got down to business- Jenny's project report.

Everything was fine until Jenny started talking about colours and I could feel resentment rising inside me. Unknowingly and unintentionally, Jenny's words got on my nerves and I barely managed to keep my anger in control. Soon my content creation team came in and took Jenny out for discussion.

I heaved a sigh of relief. I must’ve scared the poor girl! I don’t know what made me so mad at her. Its not her fault. She doesn't know about my condition nor does she deserve bad behavior from me. I decided to wait for her so we could go back home together on the bus. Also, an apology was due!

The day passed as usual-uneventful and routine. I pored through a mountain of scripts to be published and wondered how reading is a dying habit now. With e-books coming in, book lovers were few but I had already tapped into the market with audible books etc. Children's books were still outside my comfort zone and that's why I had met Jay the other day. Jenny's concept and ideas are absolutely brilliant and fresh. I'm sure the results would be great!

Around 5pm, I walked towards the bus stop and waited for Jenny. Together, we boarded the bus and I apologized for my sudden outburst. Smiling, she told me its okay and chatted on about how fruitful her day was while I was trying to find some logical explanation to the existence of colorful Jenny in my black and white world!

I saw her off and came home to find Jonathan busy laying the table for dinner. He looked at me thoughtfully and said," We must call them over sometime. Jake, is something bothering you?"

Carefully, I explained to Jo how I see Jenny 'in color' while everything else is colorless! To say that he was shocked is an understatement. He looked flabbergasted! Jo came close to me and held my shoulders," Why didn't you tell me earlier? Do you know what this means? It means Jenny is the girl who can undo the curse! You must tell her everything about your cursed life, Jake."

I shook my head and said," No. I can't drag her into my miserable and cursed life, Jo. She is happy and I want her to remain happy."

To be continued..........
