Disclaimer : I'm a huge KPop fan and you will come across names and photographs of KPop idols in most of my stories. They are my muse and inspiration in so many ways. The incidents and characters are fictional and have no resemblance to any K pop idol in any manner.

This year began well and my 13 year old self had no reason to believe otherwise! I think I have inherited my mom's optimistic and positive attitude as I looked forward to another great year ahead! (2020- the year I got my blue hair!š) After the final exams and the quick results, I was prepared to go to school again! The long hours, the heavy bags, the endless lectures, writing pages and pages of notes while the teacher would try to finish the day's topic.... Yes, it's a lot of pressure for my tender age! But I enjoy being at school! ( But I don't want to cut my blue hair please!š©) You see, 2020 is the year I had coloured my hair blue ( well, the lower half )and I was really excited because it was my first time colouring my hair! Why blue? Because it's my favourite colour!š And also because my favourite KPop idol had blue hair! I honestly didn't want to cut off my blue locks šbut I knew I had to , if school started! My friends and I were planning a sleepover before school reopened. I was really excited about it! But that morning everything changed.... Mom called us all for breakfast and said I can't go for the sleepover because 'nationwide quarantine' has been imposed with immediate effect. Seeing my confusion, papa explained that a very deadly viral infection has already forced China, South Korea and many other countries in the world to shut down completely. Air travel was suspended indefinitely, people were told to confine themselves to their homes or wherever they were at that point of time. Basically we were not to go out on the roads or to crowded market areas or even to other people's homes! Even schools and offices were shut down indefinitely! Are you kidding me!!! How did things just change overnight??? Oh wait! So that means I can keep my blue hair?!!! Indefinitely??? Yesssss!!!!šššš½ After initial hiccups and teething problems, our classes began 'online' and we saw our parents 'working from home'. I learnt how the various government agencies were working alongside the medical professionals to tackle this medical emergency..... It seemed to be getting worse every day! There was still a lot of time at hand after the morning classes, so I learnt some cooking with my mom and also helped out in every way possible. We watched movies together, played games, danced to our favourite KPop music, read a few books, chatted with friends and family, wrote for our blogs..... In short we kept ourselves quite busy. It's already been almost 3 full months of quarantine and except papa, none of us has gone beyond the main door! I heard that schools might open only after summer vacation now. Although I don't mind being home bound, I'm really looking forward to seeing my friends again and starting my normal school day like before! But I don't want to lose my beautiful blue hair!!!!š I realised that we are all a part of something momentous, something big.... Like history was being made and we were all in it together! Just wish it wasn't a disease..... 2020 for others= Covid 19š 2020 for me= My blue hair šš I'm going to school after 3 months of quarantine and 1 month of summer vacation. Yes, I had to cut my lovely blue hairšš«š It's been more than 3 months since the last time I walked into the school with my heavy bag full of books, towards my new class. We did have online classes which was a novelty for the teachers and the students. For once no kid got yelled at for too much screen time!!!! There they are- my friends! It's been 3 months since I met my friends although we chatted online frequently. I have missed them! Excited to see them I literally ran towards them with a smile on my face, my arms waving like a windmill!!!! When they saw me they all screamed and we hugged each other tight! Luckily for us, we are all in the same section and we quickly kept our bags on the bench of our choice before others came in. We walked towards the Assembly hall talking about how the pandemic changed our lives and how glad we were to come back to school again! (But I really miss my blue hair.....šš) I woke up holding on to my blue hair and screaming," No, I don't want to cut them off! Please don't....!" It was a dream. School is still closed. Lockdown extended for another 2 weeks! And, my blue hair stays intact!!! š Yippee!šš½šš½ Just got to know we'll be moving to a new place as soon as lockdown ends. New place = new school and new friends! No worries, there's Internet after all!š And the blue hair stays till I start school again! šš

Sweet!
