A Ray of Sunshine 🌞

She is a paradox - sometimes as soft and warm as a little puppy that wants to cuddle and sometimes the cranky cat with her claws out! Sometimes as wise as an owl and sometimes an innocent 9 year old.

This blog is dedicated to our younger daughter Zinnia, also called Zinu.

Naomi and Zinu are complete opposites! Two extremes of the spectrum! Thesis and anti thesis!

Zinu was and is everything that Naomi wasn't. Hyper active, curious as hell, Zinu is the resident tornado that leads to utter chaos and confusion! Though she claims there's a method to her madness!

The curious and ever inquisitive Zinu's mind knows no rest. A nap is a punishment as far as she is concerned. If you can't see or hear her for sometime, she is definitely up to something you aren't prepared for!

However, it is this spirit of inquiry that makes her read anything she can lay her hands on, especially Encyclopaedia. She is thirsty for knowledge and it's rare to see her without a book in her hands!

In fact, I always say that Zinnia was born a bookworm. Naomi was already reading a lot by the time Zinu was born and the little one has had a thing for books ever since she could hold one! This love for books is the one thing that is common to both sisters who are otherwise poles apart in every way !

Always a happy child, Zinu is truly my sunshine girl! For a 9 year old, she is very reserved as she never shows her emotions as freely as Naomi. She likes being on her own and is happiest when left to her own devices!

Till a couple of years back she had this habit of peeping inside my room or into the kitchen to see what I am doing as if she was anxious if she didn't see me for a few hours! But if I asked her she would just smile and hug me! Now she has grown out of that fear I guess.... And I don't know whether or not to feel happy about it!

The idea of being an 'author' is something Zinu had in her mind for a long time. She didn't take a moment to even think that if she writes blogs, she would write about books.

She is definitely the one that made me lose my patience at times and made me realise that a child is also an individual who needs to be respected as well as loved. She has a mind of her own.

Highly imaginative and creative, my July baby is truly fascinated with the moon and stars, animals, flowers and trees, birds and loves nature. Like the moon, her moods change everyday!

Unpredictable and full of surprises, my ray of sunshine makes me hopeful. Oh yes, her favourite member from BTS is J-Hope because she thinks they have the same positivity and sunshine radiating from them!
